On Campus MAc

Admission Requirements

Admission to Auburn's MAc Program is based on consideration of the applicant's proven ability to perform academic work at a superior level, leadership qualities, and overall accomplishments.  The MAc Program Admissions Committee takes a holistic approach when reviewing a candidate's application package. The Committee considers a candidate's academic background, letters of recommendation, grade point averages, GMAT scores, work experience, campus and community involvement, etc.

Minimum admission requirements include:

  • Meet the General Admission Requirements of the Graduate School as outlined in the Graduate Bulletin.

  • Submit acceptable scores on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).   A candidate's GMAT score must not be older than five years. The GMAT exam is not waived for candidates who have professional certifications.

  • Submit acceptable scores on the TOEFL for applicants whose native language is not English. The TOEFL is required for students that do not hold an accredited undergraduate degree from a U.S. College or University.

  • Have acceptable overall and accounting grade point averages.

  • Have a four-year degree from an accredited institution with a concentration in accounting and a strong background in the fundamentals of business. See the MAc Program Prerequisite Check Sheet for a list of prerequisites.

  • Submit three acceptable letters of recommendation using the Online Recommendation Request Sytem. If you have difficulty using the online recommendation system, you may print the recommendation form and have your references mail your recommendation to MAc Program Admissions, 359 Lowder Building; Auburn University, AL 36849. Candidates with limited work experience must submit at least two letters of recommendation from former professors and one from a former employer, advisor, etc.
