PROGRAM LOGISTICS
1. On-campus classes are video-taped in the Lowder Business
Building's state-of-the-art classroom facilities. Within
minutes of the on-campus lectures ending, distance students
have access to the lectures via streamed video. Students
must have a high-speed internet connection, such as a
cable modem, DSL, or T1 line, to utilize the streamed
videos. Links to the streamed videos will be through a
designated streaming server available to distance students
only. Students logon to the server using their Auburn
user id and password. After logging on, students' may
view each day's lecture. Students have four options: 1)
click to stream, 2) Click for podcast, 3) click for audio
only, and 4) click to download.
2. During fall and spring, on-campus classes meet twice
a week (Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays)
for 1 hours and 15 minutes. Therefore, distance students
will have two lectures each week when taking fall and
spring classes. Distance students employed full-time should
take no more than two classes per semester during fall
and spring. Summer semester courses are taught in two
five-week mini-sessions, and classes meet five days a
week for 1 ½ hours per day. Therefore, distance
students have five lectures each week for five weeks.
Distance students working full-time should take only one
class per mini-session during the summer term. Again,
the streamed videos are available within minutes of the
on-campus lectures ending.
3. Homework assignments and tests are the same as those for on-campus students and should be completed and mailed in by the due dates specified on the course syllabus.
4. Tests are administered by an approved Test Proctor.
5. Advisor and faculty set aside designated telephone office hours for distance students.
6. Additional contact is facilitated through e-mail and web sites (commentary submissions, downloads of materials/handouts, homework assignments, etc...)
