The Auburn MAc Program is fully accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Auburn University is fully accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

How long does it usually take to complete the on-campus program?
Full-time students may complete the on-campus program in three semesters. Students who enroll in the fall graduate the following August, and students who enroll in the summer graduate the following May.

Does the on-campus program offer different tracks or concentrations?
The curriculum requires four core courses, three accounting electives, and three business electives. Therefore, a student may taylor the program to meet his/her career goals.
- Which semester may I enroll in the on-campus program?
Students may enroll in the on-campus program either summer or fall only. Summer candidates have the option of taking classes during either the first or third mini-sessions or both mini-sessions. However, if an Alabama CPA exam candidate wants to meet the 150-hour requirement before spring semester, he/she must take classes during both mini-sessions of summer semester.
- Is there a suggested number of classes to take each semester?
On-campus students who enroll in the fall take 12 hours fall, 9 hours spring, and 9 hours summer. On-campus students who enroll in the summer take 12 hours summer, 12 hours fall, and 6 hours spring. On-campus students take only 9 or 6 hours spring semester in order to take the on-campus Becker CPA Review Course while taking and completing all four parts of the CPA exam before graduation. During Spring 2005, the CPA exam pass rate for Auburn MAc students sitting for the first time was 80% while the national average pass rate was 43%.

Is there a residency requirement for on-campus students?
Yes. On-campus students must adhere to the four
and one-half day on-campus residency requirement.
The on-campus residency consists of students working
with their teams to complete the program's capstone
project. The residency requirement begins the last
Thursday in April and concludes at 5:00 p.m. on
the following Monday. More details with dates are

- Is there financial assistance available for on-campus students?
On-campus students may apply for student loans through Auburn University's Financial Aid office at http://www.auburn.edu/student_info/
student_affairs/finaid/index.html. Students must be enrolled for at least two courses (six credit hours) to be eligible for student loans. On-campus students may also apply for a graduate assistantship position.

What entrance examinations are required?
The GMAT is required for entrance
to the MAc program. A candidate's GMAT score must
not be older than five years. The GMAT exam is
not waived for candidates who have professional
certifications. The average GMAT score for candidates
accepted to the Auburn MAc Program is a 580.
- When should an Auburn undergraduate take the GMAT exam?
An Auburn undergraduate should take the GMAT exam at the beginning of his/her junior year. The GMAT score is valid for five years. Because the exam tests math and english skills, it's important that candidate's take the exam soon after completing college math courses.
- What are the minimum admission requirements
to the Auburn MAc Program?
We do not advertise minimum admission
requirements. The MAc Program Admissions Committee
takes a holistic approach when reviewing a candidate's
application package. The Committee considers a candidate's
academic background, letters of recommendation,
grade point averages, GMAT scores, work experience,
campus and community involvement, etc. The TOEFL
is required for students that do not hold an accredited
undergrad degree from a U.S. College or University,
and international candidates must have studied accounting
in the U.S.
